The Ethiopian Health Education & Promotion Professionals Association (EHEPA) is pleased to announce its 3rd Annual General Assembly, bringing together health education and promotion professionals, practitioners, researchers, and partners to reflect on achievements, strengthen collaboration, and advance the field of behavioral science in Ethiopia. Theme “Honoring the Legacy, Advancing Behavioral Science” The General Assembly will provide an important platform for EHEPA members to celebrate the association’s progress, discuss emerging priorities, share experiences, and shape the future direction of health education, health promotion, and social and behavior change in Ethiopia. We are pleased to participate in the national consultative workshop on Costing and Financing of Social and Behavior Change, organized by the Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia in partnership with Africa CDC. The workshop brings together key stakeholders to explore sustainable financing mechanisms and strengthen the institutionalization of SBC as a core component of Ethiopia’s health system. We are also honored to present findings from our recent Capacity and Needs Assessment of Social and Behavior Change in Ethiopia, contributing evidence to inform strategic investments and strengthen the country’s SBC ecosystem. We convened stakeholders, SBC implementing partners, and experts to disseminate the findings of our recent study on the 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑵𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 (𝑺𝑩𝑪) 𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒂, which was conducted in collaboration with UNICEF Ethiopia. The workshop created an opportunity to reflect on the findings, exchange perspectives, and discuss actionable recommendations for advancing evidence-based SBC interventions in Ethiopia. We hope that the recommendations from this study will serve as valuable evidence and inform future strategies, SBC investments, and capacity-strengthening efforts to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of SBC implementation in Ethiopia. From April 20-24 2026, our team delivered two rounds of training to data collectors as part of our upcoming study under the C-PHEM national training program for community health workers This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute and UNICEF Ethiopia, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening community health systems through evidence-based approaches. 👏 We appreciate the research team and participants for their dedication and look forward to generating valuable insights to support community public health emergency management initiatives.

From 𝑶𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓 23–25, 2025, we have successfully conducted the First Manuscript Write-Up Workshop in Adama, as part of the third round of the Manuscript Writing and Publication Program. ✍ ✍ The workshop brought together researchers and consultants dedicated to advancing health promotion and social and behavior change (SBC) through evidence-based research. The three-day session focused on reviewing team progress, providing technical guidance, and jointly developing publishable manuscripts that contribute to evidence generation and knowledge sharing in the field. We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants, facilitators, and partners for their continued commitment to advancing research and practice in health promotion and SBC. 👏 👏

African SBC Summit Watch Party The African SBC summit watch party was prepared by the Ethiopia Health Education and Promotion Professionals Association (EHEPA) and facilitators from the Ethiopia country chapter. The watch party program focused on bringing together SBC practitioners, experts and EHEPA members to attend the virtual As-SBC Summit sessions together and reflect on the ideas and insights shared on the area of SBC to identify Key takeaways that can apply to the in Ethiopia context. This watch party was also intended to create networking and alliance among SBC experts. Selected poster presentations were also delivered by engaged presenters during the event.
