Job Position: Project Officer

ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION
The Ethiopian Health Education and Promotion Professional Association (EHEPA) was established and registered by the Ethiopian Civil Society Organization Authority in December 2021. The association’s mission is to save lives and improve the quality of life for Ethiopian citizens by promoting healthy behaviors, preventing diseases, and encouraging treatment-seeking and adherence to services aimed at both communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as maternal and child health. EHEPA focuses on various areas including behavioral insights, health advocacy, social marketing, community mobilization and engagement, risk communication, and improving health literacy. The organization conducts both quantitative and qualitative research related to behavioral health, synthesizes evidence, and monitors and evaluates health behavior programs. Additionally, EHEPA develops quality assurance strategies for social and behavior change (SBC) materials and methods. To achieve these objectives, EHEPA is seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the vacant position of Project Officer.
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Officer will play a crucial role in the effective implementation of specific project components. This position involves providing technical support, coordinating activities, and participating in project design, planning, and budget preparation. The Project Officer will oversee the proper execution of assigned project components in collaboration with team members and will assist the Executive Director with project-related tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Collaborate with staff, partners, and stakeholders to develop a detailed project implementation plan.
• Contribute to the formulation of the annual project plan and budget.
• Implement project activities according to the project design, annual implementation plan, and other interim plans.
• Facilitate and coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with the work plan.
• Engage in project development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Collect data directly or in collaboration with staff as needed.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops and seminars.
• Provide technical assistance and support to project team members.
• Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for government and other project partners.
• Document project achievements and lessons learned, and disseminate reports to partners.
• Engage in proposal writing to secure project grants and respond to funding calls.
• Represent EHEPA in different meetings and workshops.
• Frequent field travel for project-related activities and stakeholder engagement.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
JOB REQUIREMENT
A. Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Health Education, Behavioral health sciences, Public Health, or other related fields.
B. Relevant Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience for Master’s and four years for a Bachelor’s working on health-related projects preferably in the area of Social and Behavior change (SBC).
C. Skills:

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Behavioral Health Sciences Research and Design Lab coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of our BIRD LAB. You will play a crucial role in supporting research projects, ensuring the smooth functioning of the lab, and fostering a collaborative and productive environment for our team of researchers. Key Role and Responsibility:
1. Lab Operations Management:
 Manage the day-to-day operations of the BIRDLAB and behavioral surveillance system including scheduling and organization of research activities.
 Ensure compliance with safety protocols and ethical guidelines in all research activities.
 Develop and implement research protocols and procedures on Behavioral insight (BI).
 Prepare behavioral insight tools/methodologies, identify entry points that can address the behavioral barriers and outline ideas for potential interventions.
 Develop and implement site-specific procedures.
2. Research Support:
 Assist researchers in setting up experiments and data collection, including participant recruitment, data entry, and data management.
 Train data clerks on data collection best practices and software  Provide technical support for software used in data collection and analysis.
 Collaborate with researchers to design and develop experimental researches, surveys, and questionnaires.
 Prepare Behavioral surveillance system (BSS) protocol, methodology, implementation guide, measurement framework.
 Lead the implementation and monitoring of the experiment

 Conduct co-creation, prototyping, testing as well as consultations with key stakeholders and target audience

 Train and supervise research assistants and other staff in BI, data collection techniques, and research ethics.
 Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among team members.
 Coordinate research activities and schedules to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to deadlines.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
 Conduct data analysis using appropriate statistical software and methodologies
 Conduct thematic analysis, programme iteration, and report writing
 Interpretate and present research findings, including preparing research reports, presentations and publications.
 Ensure data quality and accuracy, including developing and implementing data validation procedures
 Document the learning from the implemented behavioral insight projects key findings and recommendations
 Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to develop and implement research projects
 Attend project meetings and provide updates on activities
 Assist with other project-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
 Master's degree in Health Education and Health Promotion, behavioral sciences, Public Health, psychology, economics or any related field of study from a recognized university
 Proven experience working in research preferably in the field of behavioral health science, psychology, sociology or economics.  Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
 Familiarity with experimental design, data collection tools, and software used in behavioral science research.
 Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, R, SAS.
 Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
 Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining high research standards.
 Experience in managing research projects and training on Behavioral science is a plus.

Job Summary:
The data manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a database for project activities. The data manager monitors the data collection process, assures quality, and timeliness of various project data, and prepares for continuous data analysis and report
Major duties and responsibilities:
Research Support:
Plan and monitor project activities which is specified to data management and use.
Review the questionnaires, interview guides and participate in finalizing survey instruments (questionnaires and manuals);
Develop and execute SOP, guidelines, and data standard protocols, training modules and pilot projects to guarantee data base quality control, data management and data compliance.
Assist data collectors, supervisors and regional coordinators in using survey templates to collect data
Data management:
Monitor and coordinate the data collection process and ensure data quality
Consolidate data from all data collectors and prepare simple data summary sheets for monitoring.
Ensure data quality and accuracy, including developing and implementing data validation procedures
Download data from database and prepare appropriately formatted data excel/csv files.
Design, test and implement information system and data tools such as mobile data collection tools like ODK, KOBO
Coordinate surveillance data on BHSS monthly basis

Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct data analysis using appropriate statistical software and methodologies

The administrative assistant will also support ensuring efficient operation of the office
Key Role and Responsibility:
Under the supervision of the Finance manager. The Administrative Assistant responsibilities will be as follows:
Assist the head of the field office, in administration and finance matters to ensure an effective management of the financial resources according to the EHEPA procedures.
Ensure the compliance of administration, finance and policies and procedures
Ensure payables are managed smoothly and efficiently in accordance with EHEPA procedures and with accuracy and completeness. Ensures that all payments are done in a timely manner,
Ensure that transactions are processed daily in the system and that they are accurate and complete. Administration management
