Job Description
The Ethiopian Health Education and Promotion Professional Association (EHEPA) was established and registered by the Ethiopian Civil Society Organization Authority in December 2021. The association’s mission is to save lives and improve the quality of life for Ethiopian citizens by promoting healthy behaviors, preventing diseases, and encouraging treatment-seeking and adherence to services aimed at both communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as maternal and child health. The organization conducts both quantitative and qualitative research related to behavioral health, synthesizes evidence, and monitors and evaluates health behavior programs.
EHEPA, in collaboration with UNICEF Ethiopia, is currently conducting an assessment aimed at understanding the behavioral and social factors influencing the uptake of the HPV vaccine among out-of-school adolescent girls in four specific regions of Ethiopia. This research project seeks to gather valuable insights that can guide future health initiatives and improve HPV vaccination rates. To support this project work, EHEPA is seeking qualified data collectors who possess the necessary qualifications and relevant experience.
Job Summary

The data collectors under the guidance of the field facilitators and project team will:

1. Visit randomly selected households from the list of eligible participants.

2. Identify and obtain informed consent and assent from the selected study participants.

3. Review each questionnaire before leaving the study participants to ensure all questions are accurately recorded.

4. Complete the ODK tool and submit data daily to the research team.

5. Collaborate closely with field facilitators and the project team to use both paper-based and electronic study tools.

6. Conduct daily reviews, clean, and submit survey data to the system.

7. Attend daily briefings and maintain communication with the research team.

8. Ensure the quality and integrity of the collected data meet high standards.

9. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the field facilitator.

Job Requirements
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health or a related health discipline.
• Proficiency in high-quality quantitative data collection methods, utilizing both paper-based and electronic tools.
• A minimum of two years of experience in quantitative data collection, field surveys, or community engagement within health-related projects.
• Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and online databases, including Open Data Kit (ODK).
• Ability to communicate effectively in the local languages of the study areas, specifically Somali, Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Gambela regions.
Required Skills
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on community interaction and engagement.
• Good communication and teamwork skill
Duty station/location
The selected candidate will be assigned to one of the four regions. Applicants must specify their preferred region in their application letter, taking into account the language requirements.
