Sub-theme1:
Inclusive SBC
Description: Inclusive SBC ensures that every individual, regardless of background or circumstances, can engage in and benefit from SBC interventions. Achieving sustainable development requires to give special consideration to equitable SBC by
involving all marginalized groups, such as women, children, displaced people, people
with disabilities, and those from socially and culturally disadvantaged backgrounds,
using accessible and culturally appropriate methods. This sub-theme, therefore, intends
for ways of exploiting opportunities of considering social inclusivity in SBC programs
and interventions in terms of key social variables including age, sex, residence, and
disability, as well as people in difficult situations such as displacements and conflicts.
Sub-theme 2:
Systems Thinking for SBC
Description: Systems thinking should be adopted in all SBC programs. Effectively integrating SBC strategies, initiatives, and activities in health programs in strategic
manner through embracing a holistic view and system thinking approaches can impact
key target behaviors such as socio-cultural norms and structural factors. System
thinking can also enhance societal ownership, participation, and engagement with SBC
programs and activities, all of which contribute for sustainability of SBC programs, which
in turn, help to ensure the move toward sustainable development.
Sub-theme 3:
Innovative SBC
Description: Innovative SBC is the use of new and creative methods and design
approaches to achieve SBC goals. Innovative SBC leverages creative methods,
including digital technologies, gamification, social media, human centered approaches
and behavioral design to reach and engage people in new, innovative, and effective
ways. It encourages out-of-the-box thinking to develop and implement engaging and
effective SBC strategies.
Sub-theme 4:
Building Resilient Communities through SBC
Description: Resilient communities are better equipped to withstand and recover from
various challenges and shocks, be they natural or man-made disasters, including health
emergencies. This sub-theme emphasizes on using SBC to educate and empower
communities living in vulnerable, fragile, or conflict-affected areas, increasing their
resilience in the face of challenges posed by natural or man-made disasters, as well as
humanitarian situations.
Sub-theme 5:
SBC in digital era
Description: The digital era has transformed the way people communicate, access and
interpret information, and make decisions. This sub-theme explore how SBC can utilize digital platforms, social media, and online tools to reach and engage target audiences
effectively in the digital age. This sub-theme addresses the opportunities and
challenges in the digital realm.
Sub-theme 6:
Evidence-Informed SBC
Description: Evidence-based SBC relies on scientific evidence to design and implement SBC programs and interventions, evaluate their effectiveness and efficiency,
as well as to learn lessons from both successes and failures.
